If I want to end up with the finished guitar weighing 7.5lb, what weight should the unfinished routed body weigh?

Around 4 1/2 pounds - depending on the hardware you use and the neck everything else weighs about 3lb.
For example, vintage tuners and vintage 3 saddle bridge will weigh a lot less than a Gotoh modern bridge and modern locking tuners (around .75lb.)
I have an Esquire that weighs 6lb 12oz with vintage bridge and tuners. it has a Mighty Mite neck which tend to be a bit heavier than Allparts equivalent. The body weighs 3lb 13oz.
Of course I saved a bit losing the superfluous neck pickup!

Sacrilege, one pickup. Whatever next! Thanks for the advice. The body I have is 2.1kg and will be using vintage standard parts. Need to source a chunky D profile neck from somewhere. Sounds like the whole thing should come in on target.
