Then again anything is better than tea when out on the continent!

Only if you drink too much.   I think it was 2l of cheap cider, a couple of oranges covered in cloves, a stick or two of cinnamon and about 200ml of rum.  Warm gently for about half an hour so it all infuses nicely

3-4 bottles of good quality red wine
Mulled wine spice mix

Method:
Throw the spice mix in the bin
Enjoy the 3-4 bottles of nice red wine.
