I was hoping for something really cool, but it just gave me flashbacks of quantum mechanics lectures. 

Shudder.

Jokes aside, it's fascinating stuff - and, once you've managed to forget about the maths and focus on the concepts, while revising second order integration, the maths becomes a lot more straightforward. 

And it is interesting - actually, I went from hating it to being my favourite part of my course. Asides from its relevance to modern technology, quantum physics still leaves questions and doesn't answer everything. 

Buggered if I can remember any of it now though

What puzzles me, is why the amount of energy an electron has at a given frequency is constrained in quantum sizes. Planck's constant was created to fit these experimental results.

Without really knowing what's going on, we have been able to calculate the characteristics of sub atomic particles using the Quantum equations, this has made huge advancements in nearly all of science, but we're still non too wise about sub atomic level.
