  • I forgot to ensure my head was out of  the way while closing a car boot several years ago. A large cut on my head, along with a large amount of claret convinced me to keep my head out  of the way from that point onwards.

I think you can probably work out how that one ended...

My sister cut her tongue on a piece of edam.
She should really eat more Caerphilly.

  • I have a scar on my finger from some psycho Idiazabal cheese. My wife, girlfriend at the time, insisted on chopping wedge cheese downwards, taking a slice out of the pie so to speak. However this wedge was so thin that I had to lay the cheese down. I then layered bad choice on top of bad choice by cutting the cheese towards me, completely cack-handed, with a really bad "laser" knife, the type which never needs sharpening yet goes blunt after a week. Cue a cut down to the bone, a Spanish doctor gleefully explaining that a local anaesthetic was pointless as it would hurt as much as the stitches, a scary-looking stitching needle to dig down into the flesh as the cut was on the tip. In the middle of that, the missus decided that she'd had enough of staring at blood and passed out, her head sounding like a coconut as it hit the marble floor. I had to wait, mid-stitch, while the doctor tutted and called someone to bring a wheelchair and take wifey for an x-ray. Any sympathy directed at me was then obviously siphoned off in her direction.

You're a bit late for that, he's been dead about two thousand years.

He was a carpenter though, so he probably had his share of self-inflicted doziness.

It was as if she was willing it to happen. She hates the sight of blood but was fascinated at the same time. Doh. Coming from a Catholic country, her life is full of contradiction so one more won't hurt!
