After having Boris PTS at the end of November because of a tumour in his head, his sister, Betty, has now been diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease after a vet visit yesterday. Special diet will help, if she will eat the stuff, but no cure and she seems to be going downhill fairly quickly now.
We were talking in the car about how many cats we've had and decided that one didn't count so it was eleven. Of those, we lost one in a road accident, one died naturally at home and the other eight all had to be PTS. Which is shit.
When Betty goes, that's it. No more cats as it just becomes too painful losing them. Hopefully, not for a while though.
Save a cow. Eat a vegetarian.

Sounds liked you've been spectacularly unlucky though. I've had four over the years. The youngest one to die was about 15, the oldest was 22.
The first time we've had to do it. It's a horrible decision to make - but equally you know you are making the right choice for the animal to save it suffering.
I think about Jasper a lot, ran out of road at 13 years old..had him from 6 weeks old. A constant companion. Took me 2 days to bury him in the garden, broke my bloody heart.

Snowy ( my 20 year old ) seems like he's going to avoid the death curse of 2016 but I don't rate his chances for the new year.
