I have BT Infinity 2 broadband and got one of their new Smart Hub routers today to replace my Home Hub 5.

Ran a speed test once set up and getting almost 3 fold increase in speed to my Mac over 5GHz wifi connection, around 58mb/s on speed test.

I downloaded a few episodes of TV shows earlier and was getting over 6MB/s compared to around 2-3MB/s previously. I'm impressed so far.

Been checking what's connected and we have 17 devices between the four of us!

    Sorry. <hangs head in shame>

Back on topic, I've got a BT homehub...had it for a year or so now, Infinity etcplus BT TV. I have to say I was wary, as they seem to get a lot of flack, but the product and service has been excellent. Can't fault it. The wireless service on the Home hub is brill.

Lucky bugger.  I live in London and I still can't get BT Infinity.

In fact my "broadband" seems to be getting slower all the time.  Last time I tried to run a speed test it actually gave up and never gave me a result.

Thanks for info - I may give that a go. I have a HH5 and I find that the WiFi is appalling, sometimes I get very low signal even if I'm only 5 meters away on the same floor. The signal reaches the floor directly above but nowhere else useful in the house. I also find that it "hangs" quite a lot - my son plays a lot of online games which would appear to be the root cause of the weekly crashes. I've looked at some other replacements but all get mixed reviews.....especially on whether they fully support BT Vision over IP.

Yes the wifi on the HH5 isn't great, the 5GHz is particularly weak. I replaced mine with a TP Link VR900

Wifi is vastly improved, no random disconnects and reconnects either and I can actually setup the network correctly.
And yes the BTTV stuff works fine, in fact BT as your ISP is selectable in the setup, so very simple.

Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

One of our ipads just wont have it with HHb5 Wifi, drops out all the time, other than that BT Inf. has been ok.

That's an IOS problem. It doesn't like switching between the 2 and 5 Ghz network bands. The solution is to split your network by giving the 2 and 5 bands different names. You can do this in the Homehub settings
