I like the 70s look for white LPs and modeled mine as such...

The benefit of an ebony neck and a white finish means it looks like you have neck binding regardless.

What's the difference between a LP Tribute & a LP Studio?
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Usually Studios have a more shiny finish...  Still no binding..   Tributes have what they call a worn or faded finish which just means that they have a very thin layer of Nitro...  Which I actually like..  Especially on the neck, you can actually feel the wood grain... But apart from that, pretty much the same as a Studio.

Thanks again for the input guys. It's been incredibly helpful. I've ordered a 2016 Gold Top 50's Tribute from Amazon for £649. Arrives Wednesday morning. I'll post pics and let you all know what I think of it although I'm sure it'll be a winner!

  • I have the 2016 satin gold top 50's tribute and its an awesome guitar.
The finish is great and the pickups sound brilliant.
Nothing negative to say at all.
