Why do some chaps wear shorts all year round?

I see the posties around here wearing them in winter, is it a "I'm tough" sort of thing!!, I don't even wear them in Summer in Lancs....in fact I don't own a pair of shorts come to think of it.

I wear shorts until it gets cold in Oct, but i would wear them all year round given the choice.

I have hairy legs, they don't get cold and shorts are much comfier and less restrictive

Even worse... shorts with flip-flops. Usually spotted in early April when worn by people who don't understand physics (the sun produces light and heat, which are different forms of energy).

I wear shorts a lot, but not really when it gets freezing. Shorts are just comfortable and generally legs never feel all that cold. I find that as long as my chest isn't cold I'm not too bothered. Why should anyone care if someone wants to wear shorts?

There's a bloke round here who wears them all year round, together with crocs. He's got revolting looking veiny and ulcerated legs. He's also a complete nutter.

I always run in shorts too, even in the snow. Running is quite a warm thing to do, but I wouldn't go shopping in them. 

There are two guys in our small town who always wear shorts and they both have a leg missing. Now nobody should be ashamed of being an amputee, but they're creepy blokes who seem to want little kids to point and stare. I don't get it.
