New years Resolutions?

What's Hot

For me:

  1. Lose a stone in weight (will be very tough)
  2. Set up a new YouTube guitar channel
  3. Run 5k in under 20 mins (may be beyond my body but what the hell, I'm going for it!)
  4. Build my second guitar (I've procrastinated for a year!)

I've been trying to lose weight for many years without much success, although I did lose half a stone last year.
30 years ago I could run 5k in around 17 minutes, last year I was down to 23. Plan is to meet 'in the middle'
The guitar has been planned for a year literally! time to try and get motivated.

None.  Although, after two weeks of self indulgence, I am almost looking forward to get back on the Weight Watchers wagon tomorrow morning.

    More push ups and planks.

I hope to the almighty I finish the album. I am so sick of it now.

Maybe a new job. It'd be same or slightly less benefits, more travel, longer hours (eek) but I've been doing the same thing 7 years now and new one would involve trips to California.

Get to bed on time so I feel well rested.

    Try to procrastinate less.

    Tricky one this.
I've just found the goals I made for 2012-2015 -- looks like I gave last year a miss.  I did them in Google docs "powerpoint" slides -- so I've just watched the presentations.  Mixed feelings.
I think my verdict is that I achieved a surprising number of my goals.  Which is odd cos it doesn't "feel" like it so it's kind of weird to see objective evidence that I did.  (Memory is an unreliable bugger that's for sure.)

I think rather than setting myself goals in the form of I should do something, I will do what I can do.

I set myself the single resolution of not having any new year resolution. Lost by default...

This year, I'm gonna make good shit happen.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

    Good stuff - more.
    Bad stuff - less.

    That should do it.

Try not to spend so much money on food. I've got terrible anxiety and so find it hard to sit at my desk for very long at work. Most days I find myself walking to the work tesco and buying random bits of food to occupy myself.

What I've been doing instead is still going to the tesco, but il just wander around it and then if I manage to leave without buying something I transfer £1 to my savings account.

It should be good because 2 of the things I have anxiety about are eating too much and not saving any money haha.

To bring peace and harmony to those around me. Be a better person, think of others before myself, be a wiser, happier and more rounded individual. Contemplate the lighter simpler things in life, let go of my years of anger and hatred and stop lying through my teeth like I have been in this post.
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

Me too, been paying for a gym for ages, but don't go.  I need to get into a routine of going after work this year.
    2. Buy an Epiphone Casino
    3. Record some music using Studio One software & get a better understanding of how it works, Mastering etc.

I want to see our band get off the ground.
Thats the only realistic resolution I've got. Everything else is either cool already or way beyond my control.

Since our fist child arrived 9 months ago I've done zero exercise and as a result now weight 16lbs heavier.
Shes now sleeping through the night which gives me the confidence to get up early each day to exercise.  I've zero excuses I built a gym in my garage.

So eat eat better and exercise is my only target.
Id like to lose 16-20lbs and start lifting again whilst maintaining cardio.

I've done several rounds of insanity and T25 in the past and WAS fit now I'm fat.
