Warburton's Giant Crumpets

What's Hot
GassageGassage Frets: 30928
Butter, marmite, poached eggs on top.

Heaven.

That is all.

Genius of an invention.

  • I have to say I was disappointed in them, much preferring instead to eat two normal ones (and maybe even put another two in whilst eating the first two so they don't go cold). But that could be because I treated them the same as normal crumpets, and didn't go more adventurous.

i prefer 2 normal ones too, the structural integrity of a crumpet is lost with the larger footprint

weight for weight the 9 pack is FAR better VFM. £1 at asda for 9 regular ones. 1 giant is like 2 regulars. They're appealing to them greedy types who's eyes are easily fooled.

  • Crumpets, manna from the gods. You can put pretty much anything on them and it's good.

Marmite and thinly sliced Cheshire cheese is a personal favourite, or just masses of Lurpack. Messy but gorgeous.

  • A lot of very fascinating information in this thread.  I'd never had any savoury topping on a crumpet before, butter & jam is my choice.

If I'm ever feeling brave and adventurous I may go for cheddar on top of a crumpet.

    Live a little.

When I worked in a supermarket my break-time snack was often a toffee yoghurt eaten using a Crunchie as a spoon...

Sounds like the name of the next Wallace and Gromit film .... "more butter on the crumpets Gromit .."

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Crumpets need soft cheese. All else is folly.

    Mrs Oct like 'em.
I'd rather have two regular sized crumpets.
