UK release date now seems to have slipped to the middle of July.

To be honest I'd forgotten that this was even a thing.

Prices are definitely on the way down. PMT & Andertons are both selling the Full Helix for £1,037 - I don't think it will be too long before we see it break below the psychological £1,000 barrier.  And the Helix LT has dropped to £777 in most retailers.  If the (ever) forthcoming Headrush is finally released, it just won't survive at the pre-order price of £899 - it will have to be below the LT price (say £749) to have a chance of gaining any reasonable number of customers.

watched the Oldish Anderson's video of it yesterday, looks like a good bit of kit....extremely similar in style to the Helix.

I'm inching towards wanting one again, but everyone's steering well-clear of the "can it run two impulses at the same time without dying on its ass?" question (I asked a few people who've subsequently done demos, and that point was conspicuous by its absence). It's almost like they've been told not to do it in return for the unit...

Really? Jeez. Seems to me that's a basic requirement in anything with a proper stereo signal path.

In any case...the Headrush is marketed as the most powerful unit around - if it can't do two impulses on a quad-core processor, it doesn't say much about a) the processor, or b) the code. Honestly...running a couple of impulses in realtime is trivial even for the single-core ARM CPU in the Raspberry Pi 2 (I know, I've tried). I fail to see why these guys can't do it.

Is there any way you could run a stereo IR and that save CPU vs running 2 individual IRs?

Honestly it wouldn't be something that would affect me either way.  I can see why it would be a feature people would want... but I don't personally see it as a necessary thing.

Gah - I'm an awful eejit.

I forgot that it's per path.

    I retract my former statement.

Thanks for the retraction. If anyone's interested, a 1024-point IR (Helix can run up to four of 'em) uses about the same amount of DSP as one of our stock cabs.

Headrush now available in the UK at £899 - inc DV247, Gear 4 Music. Thomanns have them in stock too - but at £959 (poor pound exchange rate hurting UK prices)

I'm guessing it wont be many weeks before a price drop...although, on the face of it the headrush is more similar to the full fat Helix than the LT, so still cheaper.
