Elevating Amp/Cab

Where can I get a crate to put my 1x12 cab on - I don't like it on the floor and Tom at Hoffnine advised always elevating it?

I can't use an amp stand as they tilt back and my amp sits on top, most pubs have those comfy seats which are great for sitting but rather precarious when putting your cab and head on I'd like it for using on "proper" stages too but would prob cover it or spray paint it black for appearance sake.

Or do you have any other solutions. Sensible ones...

Yep, I did consider that but I purposely made my gear easier to carry and a Flight Case, altho very useful, is annoying on some load-ins with narrow corridors and especially stairs! 
I used to have a 6505+ Combo and had to get rid as it was stupidly heavy

There's lots of them on eBay, just search for 'bottle crate'. The last one I got was about 11 quid.

instead of a crate or frame, get another 1 x 12 then you kill two birds with one stone, I always do that with my HotRod and carry a little 44Magnum amp in the bag so it also gives you full redundancy.

Yeah I wondered if they were flimsy - been offered some proper bottle crates but, and I feel bad for forgetting, our drummer is also an engineer and can craft me something custom...meaning he can weld some tubes together and make something that takes the amp and cab and tilt back if required...handy...now if only he could keep time too lol

I'm guessing there's a good reason that "get a vertical 2x12" (or a regular 2x12 and stand it on it's end) is not the correct answer but it works for me... :-)

Primary answer to that is I have a Custom 1x12 BUT I am considering a 2x12 and Victory make the vertical one too...damn you!

Harley Benton Vintage 2x12, put some rubber feet on the side, stand it the wrong way up. Works for me.

I use one like this and it works perfectly. think mine was from wickes and was sub £20.

Yup, I have this one - amazingly strong - takes my weight easily!

When you consider they have to be strong enough to safely support the largest person who could conceivably get up onto one, they're not going to have any trouble with an amp .

I think they're rated at 300lb usually. That's more than an entire Marshall stack.

Edit - 300lb not 300kg. Still more than a full stack weighs though.

Victory head and 1x12 - think I'll be alright lol We are trying it on the bass player's 1x12 tonight (he's taking 2) instead of his Bassman which is a beast!

Yeah, people laugh and point and stuff. Stick to beer crates, flightcases, extension cabs or chairs and maintain some dignity.
