Def Leppard tribute band

I realise that there could be many Def Leppard tribute bands around but can anyone confirm that there is...or was a Leppard trib  band called Blind Whippet. Possibly only known or gigged in the north east of England in the eighties. Bloke down the pub reckons he was the guitarist.
