Power cut

Gas man was trying to replace some piping outside. Decided instead to blow up the streets sub station.

Great. No power now until about midnight.

Just spent about an hour lighting candles.


Now having a candlelit poo to commiserate.

Made a proper bang noise apparently. Got home from work to a dark house.

Irony was I was at a small power meeting for a new build I'm working on.

The power went off to my lab at the weekend (including the supposed emergency backup generator- well done building services). It's meant a pretty horrific week for me working out what samples are OK and what isn't and organising repairs to things damaged by the sudden loss of power.
Excellent.
