  • I asked this very question when I got my first ever Converse recently. I went for a really tidy flat pattern, but didn't like the look or the adjustability of it, so I've now gone for a hybrid. I'll post a photo shortly.

  • I always liked Converse all-stars, but they seem to make my feet sweaty.

Not sure why you'd lace them any way other than "normal" but that's just me.

I just remember them from skating days in the late 80's early 90's, I liked them at first until I found out that they literally lasted about three days before they fell to pieces, compared to other stuff for the money that would last a few months.

Around here you need boots, I'm just being a judas because I wear boots everywhere, otherwise you'd sprain your ankles, get policeman's foot or lose your toes.  I get through a pair of boots every few months, Converse would fall apart in a maater of days.  They do stilll seem to be a really over priced, cheaply made, fashion gimmick though, at least to be, I mean, the're not really practical footwear and I'm a practical man, at least when I'm not pissed up.

I'm with Sambostar. Converse are dead to me. I had too many fall apart in days/weeks eg sole coming unstuck at the front, underneath, toe coming through the top bit, badly glued/finished etc. Overpriced for what they are. So hurry up and lace them.

Ever since I found this method I've ended up doing all my trainers the same way. Practical and I think it looks cool.

I liked them when I first found them - late 90s in the states.

They were cheap, functional trainers that looked cool - a bit like trendy plimsolls.

Then they got very trendy and prices skyrocketed. I heard they used to be USA made but are now Chinese?

THE Punk Rock footwear, I wore them from about 1984 - 2010 ish, each pair seems to last 12 months of constant wear. then They started wearing them, then they weren't ours anymore.

I think they are owned by Nike these days as the original company went bust a decade or so ago (I stock piled at the time)

I can't wear them, they're too flat and I need high arch support. Walking any distance becomes painful very quickly. I might try and go up one size and put in some hefty insoles.
