Perforated eardrum

Anyone done this? I've managed to perforate mine this morning.
Painful at the time but the hearing lots is annoying. Hoping it doesn't take too long to heal.

I have once - had a bad ear infection. 

Needed abx to clear it up, and I think I was partially deaf for about 6 weeks, with gradual improvement over that time.

It takes about 6 weeks to heal like ThePrettyDamned said.

I was told once it happens you tend to be more susceptible to it happening again in the future.

Happened to me also after a bad middle ear infection when I was in the USA a couple of decades ago. I had to go Emergency at a hospital in Boston, I was in really intense pain and lost balance... nasty. Also lost hearing in my left ear for quite some time, can't really remember how long for but ever since then I've had an issue with my left eustachian tube and it pops randomly and pressure builds up and I have to hold my nose and free it from time to time. 

Hope you recovery quickly.

Mine was due to trauma rather than infection so hopefully shouldn't be repeated.
