Will solid state amp technology ever get close to 75% of the tone of a Fender Super Reverb 4 x 10 ?

This is indeed good news - the Pro would be nearly double what I paid for the amp :-)
It would be exactly double what I paid for mine!

The bad news is that the standard Delta 12A is a dB less efficient than the Pro… so they'll only hear you in Devon, not Cornwall :).

  • What you find is that what you use most you become and expert in, this is why you get people who's idea of heavy is AC/DC saying SS hi gain sounds as good as a diezel and why others think the clean on a cube is as good as a boutique hand-wred fender.

The reality is that for all sounds there are SS amps that can get so close most people can't tel or don't care.

Besides what we really buy amps for is the feel when playing.
