At least it would be easy to estimate materials cost...

£82.53 if my measurements are correct.

On the downside, that's a shit load of visits to the local 99p store.

Bearing in mind I started my bathroom nearly three years ago I can't really comment on that.  :3

If I was going to go through that work I would replace the skirtings and try to get under all kitchen units. Big question is how that epoxy resin is going to wear if a scrubber touches that?

Has some tips and comments are useful. There is a pebble version mentioned. Test the self levelling has bond well if you use that which you probably will.

If you have wooden floors as mentioned in the comments then expanded metal lathe screed down and a very thin screed or self levelling should be crack proof or more to the point it won't move if it does crack do shouldn't propagate up to the coins in resin. If self levelling is used make background spotless and use Feb bond making sure you apply when tacky - instructions are important, you don't want to be ring that lot up.

  • I think they can look great but I suspect they'll be something people look back on with regret, like avocado bathrooms.

It's all sealed in with epoxy resin so it won't go green.

Can I just add an update to my flooring situation.  I still haven't put any edging down, the gap between the living room and kitchen is still bridged with duct tape and courtesy of repeatedly knocking Pugsley's water bowl and him pissing on things when we leave him alone in the house, several planks are now seriously fucked.

I will never use laminate flooring again.  Proper wood or decent lino ftw.

What if you need to lift the floor later for maintenance issues?  Underfloor pipe runs etc...
