here's another. saw it in a sonic youth vid on mtv as a kid & & thought so cool.
never really wanted to own one beyond the idea of it. how good could a plastic guitar be? (fibreglass airlines don't do it for me, i'm afraid)
so as an instrument, no. but as an idea, cool.

  • When I first started thinking about guitars (before I played a note) all I ever wanted was a white telecaster like Rick Parfitts.  Then I saw Doctor and the Medics on Top of the Pops and the guitarist played a Pink Paisley Tele - love at first sight.
In the later 80's I got into metal, so I lusted after a Kramer or two (Nightswan and Sambora) and really fancied Vito Bratta's single pickup Steinberger.
Had a couple of Kramers and white Teles (and will probably get another at some time) and recently I finally got my hands on a great Paisley from my mate @CasperCaster.

  • I revisited The Ultimate Guitar book as a teenager as if it were porn, and it was always the Jaguar and Jazzmaster the most. Drove me to buying my Jaguar nearly two decades later. Always loved the look of Ricky's too, but playing the two I owned put pay to that; hideously disappointing things.

as a teenager / very noob guitarist I loved Strats, V's and Rick 4001 basses
my heroes at the time played them [Hendrix, Blackmore, Schenker, Tipton, Squire]

through the 80's I lusted over Charvels.. San Dimas style and EVH
through the 90's and early 00's it was all about Ibanez Jems and RG's

I've always loved super-Strats from the first moment I laid eyes on one..
    and still do
play every note as if it were your first
