    Yes - especially the 3-wire jumper cable which feeds these fuses...

    I have had a general fiddle with connectors and changed fuses to no apparent joy (there are two internal fuses I could see without taking the boards out). Any more possible easy changes to components I could make before sending it away?

    If you have a multimeter, measure the voltages (to chassis) on the banded ends of D3/D5 and the plain ends of D2/D4 near those PCB fuses - they should be about +25V and -25V respectively. If not, the two fuses have probably blown.
