  • Guitar - no contest, where the paws meet the wood and the wire - everything else is just amplification and decoration - important yes but can't help with a poor instrument
This is the truth from hillbilly guitars!

Guitar, without question - it's where the personal connection happens.

You can play guitar without amps or pedals, but you can't play amps or pedals without a guitar...

  • Guitar, same reason as those above.

Surely a Pedalboard is likely to be replaceable  in 99% of cases?

There will be many people reading this who could not say that about their main guitar.
Amps fall somewhere between the 2. But even a vintage amp should be replaceable without difficulty. The unique wear patterns are of no relevance during all periods in which you are not actually hugging the amp.

    Guitar.
There will always be an amp and cheap pedals are everywhere.
Until Boss go out of business, i won't panic about pedals !

Guitar, not even close. Some of my favourite guitars don't even plug into an amp…

But asking the question a different way - which one piece of gear is the most important to getting 'your sound' if you're forced to borrow the other two? - might get different answers.

For me, it depends on the band/context, but more than once I would have said pedalboard. Currently it's still guitar.

It would seem odd for it to be anything but your guitar. You can choose your settings on amps and pedals, and whilst they can be changed, there are so many more nuances in the way that you interact with the guitar itself, that I would expect that is were most people would develop the strongest bond, and therefore what would become the most precious to them.

Some guitars are really special, occasionally feel that way about an amp, can't say I have ever felt it about a pedal.

  • Guitar(s). I'm going further away from amp sounds and pedals these days and just loving the sounds of the guitars. I've stopped doing "accurate copy" covers.

  • Guitar. Particularly my acoustic one.

Guitars - because they can be variable.

Amps are generally the same i.e you don't have to try out loads of amps of the same model.

Pedals don't really interest me, but again you buy one pedal, the others of the same make/model will  sound the same.

    Guitars.

Each one is (slightly) different, even the same make and model.

  • Guitar, obviously. I love fx but there's always another wah/dirt/delay/swirly that can do that job. But there is no other strat/CS336/Tele/Cabronita exactly like mine.
