    Hmmm - well, actually its a bit more than that. These old consoles are probably *more* responsible for the sound of rock n roll than any of your famous vintage guitars or amps... as these were what actually shaped the sound that was recorded. Yes the guitars, amps etc were the source material but the way a *good* producer and engineer could manipulate that source was key to creating the vintage tones musicians chase after today.

    A good console is as much of a musical instrument as a '59 Les Paul in my book and far more interesting!
