As far as I know Adrian Belew has played with Tori Amos and Nine Inch Nails.  We are still in the right ball park of the correct answer but as a final nudge towards the specific connection I was looking for (as obvious the leap from Fripp to King Crimson was a pretty obvious one) -  Viva!
