Delay into distorted amp - no effects loop

Anyone using delay into the front end of a distorted amp if so what pedal? Particularly interested in catalinbread belle epoch results.

Always! Deluxe memory man, Moog Moogerfooger and Carbon copy.

Much less keen on digital delays up front (or indeed at all!)

Carbon Copy worked well when i sued it like that and the Belle Epoch was pukka in front or in the loop. Cant go wrong with the Belle Epoch tbh

As luck would have it.
The much esteemed Pete Thorn has just done a video on this very thing.
Seems slightly grittier, more mellow delays are the order of the day, can't wait to try my tape echo emulations pre drive.

Delay into dirty amp works great.

I have dirt pedals into delay into dirty amp - plenty of nice sounds to be had. The dirt pedals are before a volume pedal so I can rock that back to reduce the level and keep the amp clean if I want cleaner delays, or forward for the grittier, messier ones.

Both and more. My amp won't go too filthy with single coils but with humbucker pickups it's a very rock crunch - not metal at all though.

I have used delay into metal gain before and it's great - but you need a very dial able mix knob.

I've used a flashback into Maria Ozowa levels of dirt. It was ace.

It doesn't really matter. Can't really go wrong with delay and distortion, it always sounds mushy and great.
