Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
I settled on the humble Orange Dark Terror and a Blade Texas, its bloody simple but i do now spend more time writing and recording ideas rather than mindlessly searching for the grail tone.
I mean, I agree with you 100%. I recommend them all the time over on Ultimate Guitar, they're hard to fault for the price. Really good amps full stop (apart from the loop, maybe), but the fact they're about £250 for the heads is crazy. I mean, I can buy a Jet City head for not much more than a Wampler SLOstortion. Which is kind of hilarious and crazy at the same time.
"Why are you playing a cheap Marshall copy and an Ibanez knockoff? Get yourself a Les Paul and a JCM800, you'll sound miles better."
I larfed.
When people are asking what the best boutique high gain pedal is I often think of saying "just buy a Jet City" (assuming they are bedroom players)
The whole situation is def leaning toward a two-amp set up though

Thing is, I haven't come across anything yet. I'm definitely going to be going down the Kemper route at some point in the next year or so, and with that in mind I'm going to be profiling the Kraken with a mate of mine this weekend. Just in case, y'understand
And yes, Kemper ! (Question is, power amp or not to power amp ?)

I now have the 20w version but that's only because I saw it going cheap and couldn't resist.
Sometimes a certain amp just works, no matter how much hype surrounds these big name "holy grail" amps.

It's a waste of time, money and effort.
