Impractical giant pedalboard time!

Hmm what is this I see. A largely virginal pedaltrain 3 just waiting to have pedals attached to it and now I no longer have to consider silly things like gigging practicality and making any kind of rational sense I can have the kind of insane pedal board I often see on here with about 10 overdrives.

Here I am putting it together

By the way if anyone tells you Nivea doesn't work then point them at this photo (I'm 36).

 And here we have it

A booster into 3 overdrives, into 2 distortions (the one on the left is a Juansolo Riot) with an octaver, delay and wah. Completely silly, but great fun.

Now the important bit. What other crazy junk should I put on here?

I was thinking maybe a fuzz and a chorus.

Digitech Bass Synth Wah (not the awful guitar version), a Lovetone Meatball, and a proper nasty solid state drive. MXR Dime, or similar.

  • You need some analog warbly stuff and definitely some tremolo. And you've only got one delay on there and no reverb...get with the programme!

I should hopefully be obtaining a Princeton soon so the reverb and trem is covered.

  • Ha! Until you've a board that carries a very real risk of you herniating every time you attempt to lift it, and that requires a case large enough to sleep 2 small adults in, you're not living.

Why would I want to uncoil an extension lead?

I would just space the pedals out because I hate knocking the knobs/hitting extra switches when I'm a-stompin'.

I frequently PAT test those coil types that haven't been unravelled, they tend to melt the very inner coils, i've even seen one catch fire under extreme load.

To get blacker silences and a more refined soundstage.

is that a blender in the background? i assume it's for obliterating old electro harmonix pedals which have crapped out on you at some point? Either that or you've figured a way to power it with your board...

    boost > volume > drive > delay > blender

Exactly what I thought. Pedal train 3 has about 4 or 5 models bigger than it doesn't it?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Does your pedalboard have a blender?
