Thank you @RoughTrade for hosting me & a handful of awesome folks to hear #Prisoner solo last night. I CAN'T wait for the UK tour! Big Love

I fricken love the man, didn't think I'd ever get into someone so influenced by country but I absolutely love his music.
For anyone, I'd recommend Gold, Rock n Roll, Demolition, Ryan Adams, 1984.
It's similar in feel to RA, but with a bit less reverb-drenched Fenders and a bit more acoustic & keys. I haven't got right through it yet but so far it's good news
I know it divides opinion (like a lot of his stuff), but Gold was still the pinnacle for me. Flawless from start to finish.
Will listen tomorrow. .....
I listened again to his appearance on 6 Music with Lauren Laverne and this second verse from To Be Without You really blew me away. How do you keep coming up with such powerful stuff?

His self titled last album didn't grab me.I prefer those songs played live.check out the 'apple' gig he did in London. It's on the net somewhere.. great recording and the songs really do come alive!
He clearly knows that his fans are Northerners too looking at the venues:
