1. Yes, could be a lot of folk have enough Strats already - I have 3 Strats myself so not looking for another.
2. As oft said here, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Whilst price seems reasonable, at £480 its not actually that far away from someone being able to pick-up a USA Strat (typically with hard case). I know the Mex Classic Players are great quality, but there are a lot of folk that will tend to still prefer USA Strats (resale, snobbishness, perception that they are better etc) at or near this price-point. I have to hold my hand up and acknowledge that I'm sadly one of those - it's not that I wouldn't consider a Mex Strat, as I definitely would - but only at perhaps £3-400 & not at this price point.
3. It might also perhaps be (and again I fall into this category myself) that some folk simply prefer custom colours rather than sunburst - I'm not really a fan of Sunburst myself so even if I was looking to buy another Strat, it would be a custom colour. But of course there are still plenty of folk that love the classic look of sunbursts.
4. We're not far away from summer holidays so perhaps its just a case of timing & available cash as folk are saving/paying for holidays.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll find a buyer but I completely understand your frustration and as you've asked I thought I'd try & suggest some possible reasons.
Just had a quick gander on EBay, and found one that looks the same (been modded too) - currently 2 bids, £205, 3 days 10hrs to go. You might want to keep an eye out to see how it does:

You're probably right on most fronts there....I'll let it sit for a while and see what happens.
i still like the 12 inch radius anyway, so if it doesn't sell, at least that differentiates it from my other strat, so I'm not too concerned. Mostly being pushed to sell it by wifey anyway, rather than any great desire on my part, otherwise the collection would simply keep growing, much to her annoyance.
Was more of a rhetorical question actually but I do appreciate the time you've spent replying!
Yeah, good point. It's a mod to the tone controls which is easily reversed by a guitar tech (or someone with soldering ability) and it allows you to control tone on the neck and bridge pickups, rather than the standard strat setup of tone controls for neck and middle. I had it done because I find strat bridge pickups a bit thin. Think it added about 5 or maybe 10 quid to the cost of the setup, it's just literally moving a wire from one pot to another, I believe.
So all I can say is keep dropping the price like I did till you find a buyer and let it go while you can Selling gear these days is a hell of a job.
