How long to grow a beard?

What's Hot
Col_DeckerCol_Decker Frets: 2188
edited January 2014 in Off Topic

So I've got myself a folk gig coming up in 2 weeks, and I've decided to don a full beard. Cos folkies love beards right? My last shave was a week ago and the gig is in a weeks time. Is 2 weeks growth enough to pass as a proper folk type or shall I be cast out as a non traditionalist?

Aaron jumper may also be worn

And as an outcast there's no need for the jumper. Wear a Slayer T-shirt and really scare them..... *-:)

It depends on how hirsute you are, but you'll probably have something fairly beardlike, but short. Certainly not the full fisherman.

  • 10 days - 2 weeks for decent coverage but another 2 weeks to look like an old sailor

    ummmm

folk, its all folk to me. I stuggle with the song names, to me they are 'the one that goes E,D,G, or the one that goes Am,F, C' etc. But I do know one of them is called 'the flower and the young man'

The Strawbs...you don't have enough time to grow the required beard....so I advise going out and buying a distracting hat.

Depends really, if its trad folk a proper beard is de rigeur, however if you are doing nu-folk then just a shitty Che Guevara bumfluff jobbie is all you'll need.

the trick to growing a a beard is in the trimming.
Grow for about two weeks then trim back to around 3mm .That way it will all be the same length and after another couple of days growth it will look thicker.

About an hour if I concentrate.

I'm thinking of growing a spiv moustache.

I'd recommend a distraction technique in case the beard's a failure, open toed sandals, for example.

I can grow parts of a beard in that time. It varies from person to person.
