It mainly gets used when I'm off on my travels. I tend to use it to watch films, browse the web and look at pdfs.
The display is brilliant, it has, I think, 16GB on board and can take 32GB titchy SDHC cards, which is tremendous. I can use a mouse with it, whicvh is great for some websites.
It's not a substitute for a PC but it does what I want and it's a bargain.
I hope it doesn't fall through as I've now ceased bidding on the tiny handful on eBay that I could collect.

So far the 13inch tablets I've seen are horrifically expensive or a potato with a screen...

Don't know much about Apple Mac,
Don't know much about Wozniac,
Don't know much about IOS,
Don't know what that old iTunes is for...
What, if anything, should I know as I take my first steps into the world of Apple ??

Obviously you should try the Kindle app, coz that's how you started thinking about this, wasn't it?
What do you use a computer for now?
I thought I could use it as a replacement for a laptop, but it turned out to be the worst of all worlds - not portable enough to carry around like a phone, but too small to do anything useful with.
But they're so expensive you could get an absolutely excellent, slightly bigger android or even windows equivalent.
Comparing something like my hudl 2 to an ipad (which is what most "apple are da best" people do) is ridiculous. Compare a £340 ipad to a lenovo yoga tab for about £400 and it's... Not so clear cut.
For a simple, safe, consumer device ipad rocks. But for any kind of work, it's not amazing - it has some great apps, but it's just not that capable. The apple adverts suggesting it can replace a windows laptop, even a £300 one, is laughable. But it's safer, has a beautiful, responsive screen and is a lovely product.
My little brother has an ipad pro and I'll be damned if I can work out why it was worth £400 more beyond storage space...
@Myranda https://m.johnlewis.com/microsoft-surface-pro-4-tablet-intel-core-m3-4gb-ram-128gb-ssd-12-3-inch-touchscreen/p/2289778 would that tick a box for you?
I tried a higher end one and it was absolutely brilliant. Much more capable than an ipad. Costs more than a basic ipad mind.
Regarding Android app store being rubbish, nonsense. How many apps do you actually want/use? All the common, best and most useful ones are across all devices. I've never lacked, as far as I can think.
I come from Barcelona.
I learn it from a booooook.
I also have an iPad 3.
I spent ages on my "Don't know much about" lyrics above and not one LOL. Bastardos.

1. Create yourself an account in AppleWorld / AppStore.
2. Go shopping in the AppStore.
3. Never use 90% of the apps that you buy.
4. Wonder how you survived without that other 10%.
I can get free digital magazines from my local library website via Zinio. See if you can!
You need to get a grip on your hyperbole mate.
Who's Zinio ? Does he play for Milan.

I had no idea that computers could be so polished and slick. I!ve been playing with the iPads for a while now and they are amazing!!!! I've spent my life fighting with Windows computers but this is almost effortless. I haven't encountered a single bug so far. Sorry to wheel out a fanboy phrase but, it all just works.
Has Apple always been like this ? To tell the truth, the last Apple device I ever played with was the mind-blowing Apple ][ in the local computer shop in 1979. It had these amazing new 5.25" floppy drives and a COLOUR screen!!!
This smells of professionalism and serious thought in the design process combined with very strict
Quality control on the software front.
I think I'm becoming a convert.
...or was it a pervert ?
either way...

Apple software is not maybe as polished as it was 10 years ago, but it's still bloody good for everything normal people need to do with it.
