Scorchio, still air, no clouds.  Not often we get those in the U.K.

Indeed, it's quite unpleasant here. Lots of insects hatching, not a breeze on the air and the pollen is making everyone go crazy.

But it's been a beautiful sunny day. Tomorrow promises to be hotter still, but after that it looks like it'll cool down a bit.

Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light.

I had the patio doors open at 07:30am yesterday and sat on the decking with my Martin D28 playing a few slow blues licks and a cup of coffee, while admiring the garden which is in full bloom, and the trees beyond the hedge in the meadow behind our house. We live on an estate but our house backs onto common land with rough grassland, trees and a river and looking out from the back garden we see no other houses at all.

Later on had the BBQ on and cooked peri peri chicken, sausages and homemade chilli burgers while sipping a few Scrumpy Jacks.

    Bliss.

My cello teacher said "Sorry it's so hot". This gave me a brief glimmer of hope, before I realised she was using the sympathetic rather than remorseful sense of the word.

But that brief moment, when it sounded like if I asked nicely she'd turn the world down a bit - that was ace.
