Edit: fwiw, whilst sounding very nice, marr jags don’t sound a whole heap like a Jaguar to my ear.

The Fender Jaguar has a little patch of guitar tones all to itself. The combination of a shorter scale, the vibrato bridge/tailpiece mechanism, all that dead string length and acres of metal control plates yields unique results.
The deep, woody tone mentioned by GRL has some overlap with early Hank Marvin Stratocaster tones from the period when he used huge strings and modest vibrato arm wiggles.
