N(OLD)GD - (P90 and wraptail content)

Well, I'm currently on cloud nine - I've been on the look out for an old Special for a long time at the right price. Finally got this old girl and I am gobsmacked. She has probably no original hardware, but the guitar is a very early (serial number says 62) SG, flush back neck join, and tilted bridge. She has been oversprayed at some point, and had the paint taken off (not the best job!! as you can see) but the polaris while still shines through - and NO neck breaks! A smidge under 7lbs and very resonant. currently running what I think are Antiquities. The original (I think) frets are pretty worn, but I gave her a gentle level, crown and polish and she now plays great with a nice action and no choking out or buzzing. Beaten up and Beautiful - Ain't she pretty!!

Anyone curious, that is Ani - he is about 16/17 and has heart failure, but STILL thinks he is a puppy and doing just fine

Is the dog as stretchy as the Guitar?

Congrats, great guitars, I have a 50's one with P90's and I think they are under rated.

I'm not familiar with the SG type shape, but I'm sure it sounds great.

Thanks for the nice comments guys! I'm well and truly in guitar heaven - @bodhi ; I would love to do some sound clips but I'm really not setup for it at the moment, I'll happily do it in the near future though once I get my little home studio back up and running.

@57Deluxe - Unfortunately my brutal tinnitus has retired me from gigging, so the poor thing will be subjected to my constant home rock/jazz rock/blues rock/general noodling, studio recording and general rawk'ing out. It may get the occasional 'mega blast' out jamming with friends (and the appropriate double ear protection!). I have other guitars for other styles, but currently I can't put this one down!
