Well I've wanted a new Les Paul, but I wanted something without a pick guard, and without the holes for one, seems that's impossible these days, in a colour I liked anyway. So I bought this, fan boy gas at its finest

Please excuse my son's sock, cigarette end and fireman Sam scooter*

* please note a poorly constructed senetence suggests all 3 items belong to my son, only the sock and scooter do, the cigarette is from (my) spilled ashtray.

Ha just realised it sounds like my son was smoking, no the cigarette end is mine.

It's a LP vermillion, slash signature model, an AFD in a different colour essentially. Really happy with it, best guitar I've ever played, miles ahead of the standard I had and better feel than a couple of reissues I tried out lately. Cost me less than a new standard.

From the new Gibson's I've looked at the past few weeks it's looking good, I've not found a new LP with a QC issue.

I'm looking for a new amp so I've played quite a few, and I would rate them good to very good. I haven't played a bad one for ages.

From what I've read, it seems that post flood Gibsons are much better. When everything was wrecked in the floods they had, they got a big insurance payout and had a chance to start from scratch and get things better.
Which sounds reasonable.
Let's hope they keep it up.

Cheers guys, I expected a lot more negative comments given the colour and the fact it's signature model.

And nothing wrong with the fireman Sam scooter, it gets me from A to B.
