I would have gone wraparound bridge to leave some space behind... looks a bit unbalanced with the full Gibson set-up

Some of these mongrels look better than others. If you take the view that sounds and feel trump appearances, even the fugliest of these designs could satisfy.
For my eighteenth birthday, my parents bought me an American guitar. It was a Peavey T-60 from Buzz Music, Hereford. (Remember them?) When we got to the shop to collect, lurking in the pre-owned display area, there was a beaten up late Sixties Telecaster with a Filter'Tron in the neck/Rhythm position - priced about the same as the brand new Peavey. If only I had known then what I know today.
In 1980, a stripped Tele with the wrong pickup was "butchered". Now, it's a Custom Shop special.
If that had a hardtail strat bridge, the pickup selector on the lower horn explorer style, or even a master tone with two volumes and the selector in place of the pot closest to the bridge and a tele neck would be perfect!
Needs a Bigsby.
No, really I'm serious, that, in my opinion would really mix it up and yet give it focus.
