I bloody love the Rain Parade!
I said maybe.....
My first gig was AC/DC at Bingley Hall Stafford in November ‘79 on the Highway To Hell tour.
She was terrible.
I also saw Barenaked Ladies at Wembley Arena on their Stunt tour in 1999, which was ace.
The first 'proper' gig I remember going to on my own (because I was able to drive) was New Found Glory at Rock City circa 2001. Ended up losing my shoe on my first crowd surfing experience (got it back!), and they were supported by RX Bandits and Fenix TX, both of whom were fucking ace.
First "proper" gig was JJ72 at the UAE in Norwich, in 2002 I think.

And, cos of this thread I've just found a bootleg of the gig.
Gonna see if I can get in touch with the mate I went with...
A year later with a Hawkwinds and Pink Floyds under me belt I'm here....
Everything changed...
The Ramones, Finsbury Park, 31st Dec 1977
NIN and Skid Row opening.
As for JD, I knew little of guitars at that point but I’m pretty certain it was the first of many sparks that led me down this path..!
My ears are still ringing.
They were still a political reggae band then and still to this day one of the best gigs and live bands I've ever seen... and it shaped the rest of my musical life to be honest. I do listen to other music and have a real mixed taste but ska and reggae are my first love and I always come back to it like an old friend...lol
This was the setlist (not my copy, so thank you, internet), and even now, I feel like I can remember every second of it.
