At least this time he's doing the Midlands, North West and Scotland. But sadly no Wales (Cardiff?) or Ireland (Dublin?).
I think he knows he's still a big enough star not to have to traipse the smaller venues (e.g Cheltenham Town Hall, Cadogan Hall in Bristol).
I find it great that tickets to see Jeff Beck are a fraction of what it costs to see Joe Bonamassa. They are both great guitarists who have put a lot of work into their craft, yet for me the age thing means there'll be far far fewer opportunities to see Jeff in the future. Unless Joe retires tomorrow. It's a very very rare opportunity to see one of the world's best Rock/Jazz guitarists playing the UK outside of London, and here's hoping Jeff picks a setlist that touches his early playing days.
Last time I saw him in Cardiff (St Davids Hall) I'm convinced he was not mic'd up and just had his pair of Marshalls flat out - it sounded like it and it sounded HHUUGEE!!!
Him trading licks with Jan Hammer is something I'll never forget..
Goodie gumdrops!
Give up? No way ... I'm going for some inspiration - even if he does have a fairly unique way of playing.
I saw Jeff when he played with Clapton several years back.. The thing is I went to see Eric, I knew who Jeff was but hadn't really gotten in to him at that point.. Lets just say I was blown away and left the gig a HUGE Jeff Beck fan.. While Erics solo bit of the gig was less inspiring.
Watching him play is just mesmerising.
One of the best bits of course was the end section where they came on and did some tunes together

If you haven't caught him live before, do yourself a favour before he retires to play with his cars.
I can't (yet) find details of the musicians involved. Those musicians who featured on his most recent album Loud Hailer, don't appear to have anything listed with JB for this Summer. Tal Wilkenfeld? Nothing giving on her website either.
Maybe someone else with a bit more inside information can reveal all.
Can’t offer any info on JB’s band. He always has top class musicians with him though.
If you can go... go.
