I think they're generally loud compared to other amps!!
I had a 4100 dual reverb that I used in the house. It actually sounded pretty good anywhere up to about 4 or 5, which was as loud as I dared crank it when I was a kid still living with parents.
I sold it a few years ago, and had an unfortunate incident with the footswitch and the separate volume controls for each channel. After coming back from a service I tested channel 1 then switched over to channel 2 without checking the volume, which was at 10. My Mrs didn't speak to me for a couple of days (or I couldn't hear her when she did), and I've never seen the cats move so fast.
They get a bad rep but I think they are lovely amps.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
I've seen someone do that with a Fender Stage 160W 2x12" in a shop as well .
I do also quite like the Dual Reverb models - but it has to be said I like hybrid sounds in general so that may not be surprising. I used to dislike the build quality, but compared to what Marshall did after that they seem positively great! I've often been tempted to get the little 100W 1x12" combo and upgrade everything that needs it (speaker and pots mostly).
