Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
What about some Dreamy Sleepy Nighty Snoozy Snooze (for cats)?
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
Plug ins before you go.
Spray the carrier for the trip.
More plug ins when you get to where you’re going.
It’s expensive but it does seem to work with ours.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
In your shoes I’d...
Stop at the services half way let him have a drink and a bite to eat and roam around the car for half an hour before puttting him back in the carrier. The trip to the cattery then a new house will be far more unsettling.
Also the advice above re. something to relax is a good shout.
Travel is stressful for animals, so whatever you do take lots of food and hydration for them, which is a pain because if anything like my cat, he doesnt drink a bloody thing, ever.
If I had to make your journey and its a one off, I’d recommend putting them in a local cattery to home and not taking them.
But if thats not an option, depending on your car, I’d take the parcel shelf out, put a dog guard up, line the boot with blankets and treats and keep the windows down in the cabin.
if your cats susceptible to cat nip I’d put some in there too.
I’m more anxious than most about these things, but I wouldnt risk letting them free in the cabin. Almost definitely illegal if a copper see’s you. Probably something like a distraction to the driver etc.
Also if there is a smash (rare but you never know), kitty would need all 7 lives and a shit tonne of cash to come out of it well.
This ones local to me but I imagine there are loads. Never used them so can’t say anything mind. Trained people and specialist vehicles with vets on call etc.

Just a thought.
I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.
Mavis, a cat who lives over the road from me, loves going out in her family's car - she's jumped into mine a few times but I've resisted taking her along in case she jumps out somewhere she doesn't know her way home from.
