Being a junior, I’m not sure shagging it would be legal...

Tho I’m constantly amazed by Neil’s selection of carpets :D

how does it stack up against an Ivison - Dare say such guitars become the test bed for an Ivison

Will you have it with you at London

Love it, Single cut TV models always make me think of Rick Richards slaying it with the Georgia Satellites circa 1987!

Well, I'm obviously biased but I think they are VERY close. Certainly in feel although the TV is quite a bit heavier at 8.4lbs, the Ivison being 7.5lbs.

Part of the reason for getting this is to have a comparison and make sure i'm not veering too far off vintage spec with them - but comparing them, i'm very happy!

99% sure i'll bring it to Kempton, i'm also in talks with a dear pal of mine to see if he'll bring down another tasty morsel so there might be a "Tantalising Twin TV Treat" on my stand! ;)

It really is a beautiful guitar!

Having just read the article in the Guitar mag it really puts that guitar in to perspective.

I thought it was a great read about someone following their heart and making a life they choose rather than the life that is thrown at us. Kudos.

All the best with your guitar making.

I perhaps should have done a New Rug Day too as this appeared after the guitar....we went out for some Lunch yesterday and the wife uttered the immortal words that make a husbands blood run cold.....

    Wonderful.

I can never make my mind up if I prefer TV yellow or sunburst on a junior.

I like them equally...cherry is a big no, no on a single cut for me though.

I must be the only person in the world who can’t stand TV :). Especially the more Afrika Korps khaki ones... the real yellow ones aren’t as bad.

I had an all-original ‘57 Special years ago - lovely sounding guitar, but I hated the way it looked. I knew refinishing it would be silly, even back then when they weren’t worth that much... so I sold it, which was probably more silly :(.

I would have really liked it in a nice vintage cherry.

    Well, we're all different mate!

I think TV Yellow, especially this early wheat colour, when worn, is one of the coolest colours on a Gibson ever!

Cherry on a single cut just looks wrong, to me. On a double cut though, it's another stone cold classic.

Different strokes for different folks and all that :)

Yeah I agree cherry is for SG’s or DC juniors.
