Hmmm...interesting. And yet the GT seems to have less bottom end than a new JJ.

Would the JJ 6l6 power tubes colour the sound much?

You think a Tungsol 12AX7in v1 would be brighter?

Like I say, it could be the GTs are just really old, does putting in one of the other GTs makes any difference?

A tungsol will give you more sparkle to the top end, with a full but tight bottom (mmm...). But with all things valve, it’s not going to be night and day. Most people probably won’t even notice the difference.

Tbh, I’ve tried other valves in my HRD but nothing sounds quite the same as the Fender supplied GTs.

And imho, none sounded as good.
