Also check out AX8, FX8, Axe FX II/III and Kemper though.

I have to say, the bass options on the other modellers are not nearly as comprehensive as on the helix. Fractal just don’t seem interested, and I’ve never seen anyone use a kemper for bass.

I mostly agree but often bassists will just use one sound for much of the night and the Helix is pretty big if you have a small stage.

I know a couple of people using Kemper with bass.
With the Axe FX I just set it to SVT amp model and the 8x10 cab.
I like it because I can use a wireless and have everything in the rack and nothing on the floor.

Helix is great for bass as is the HX Stomp. I generally use a DXR10 but have a Barefaced FR800 landing at the end of January.
What are folks favourite Helix bass models? I love the Cali (M9 Carbine) with the Mesa 6x10.

Interesting @Bridgehouse and @simonk what kind of music are you playing?

i already have a helix, but have some bass playing work coming up.., was thinking a powered speaker better and overall more useful than getting an amp.

I’m in a similar situation to you then and contemplated picking up another bass amp briefly as I wasn’t sure if the DXR10 was up to it. I use a QSC K8.2 for guitar with the Helix but putting bass through it seemed a little unfair. The DXR10 holds up well though and gets pretty loud... gig volume I’m not sure about yet hence the inbound FR800.
We’re doing a mixture of stuff including some Foo Fighters, James and Killers.
