It will do what you want but be aware that the USB ports can fail on them, rendering them useless.

I have to say - it reacts quite slowly. It's fine on slow tempo stuff, but trying to do a roll makes it stutter.
Playing the same thing with a wireless QWERTY keyboard actually reacts quicker!
I'll give it another day, but I'll probably be sending it back. Maybe it's too cheap.

Just watched a video on how to make the pads more sensitive (skip through him unscrewing and re-screwing it)
Much happier with it and I've not even downloaded the software for it yet.
