We have longhaul flights coming up with two kids. We’ve battled on with Kindle Fire’s for too long....they’re sh*t! Condition not too much of a concern as long as they work. Any Gen considered! Message me with your wares!

We’ve experienced just the opposite, our two iPads became so slow they were virtually unusable. Amazon Fire replacements have been fantastic for a fraction of the cost of an Apple device. What’s your issue with the Fire ? Do they eventually get slower too ?

Won't the long hauls have entertainment (usually Android based but who cares) with movies & games? I can recommend the current crop of active noise cancellation headphones: on the plane with standard headphones they provide I couldn't watch the movie, I had to wack up the volume to the point where it was screaming. Mpow £40 headphones perfect.

I've got a first generation mini; all works except the home button so fine if your kids are OK with using "gestures" to navigate.

My kids use Amazon Fires and love them. Way better than the alternative for kids too, as I have the kid coloured ones in foam surrounds, with insurance built in for free replacements / 2 year cover and free kids films/apps etc etc

These are what we have, but they’re very slow and the memory is virtually non-existent!

Ours certainly aren't slow and haven't had any issues with space. I bought them at Christmas last year for them, so fairly new.

Just checked and they are 16GB each. Have three of them and had zero issues.

Hi. It’s a model A1219 64G....problem is my other half don’t want to sell it, sorry....you can pick them up on eBay for £40-£50...
