I have a couple more guitars up for sale, including another Patrick Eggle for those who missed out last time!

Both guitars are collection from Nottingham or postage at cost.

First up:

Rob Williams Custom Strat: now sold

 £1075 £995, £950, now £875 (part exchange plus cash a possibility)

Forget all those prices, this is now a daft £700 or with the Hiscox £750!!! Posted with the Hiscox for £765 !!!

Part ex?:
Something stratlike would be of interest (Fender US/mij, partsocaster, Blade, Gordon, Warmoth etc)
Or something more superstratty (Jackson /Charvel)

This is a Rob Williams Strat, dating back around 20 years when he was trading as Woodworm Guitars. Rob is an amazing luthier who had extensive experience prior to setting up Woodworm working with Patrick Eggle as one of the main luthiers, and prior to that working for some of the BIG names as a repair specialist. In setting up Woodworm (later to become Rob Williams Guitars), Rob brought that expertise to his own hand built guitars.

This is one such example, made as a custom order for a guitarist named Konig (German for king - check out the 1st fret inlay). It features:
- mahogany body with stunning quilted maple droptop
- mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and 22 frets (this is probably the best fretwork I've ever seen)
- custom chess piece 'king' inlay
- hardware is Gotoh (Magnum 310 tuners and unknown model bridge)
- pickups (set out as SSH) are hand wound by Martin Dufficy of The Little Guitar Shop in Birmingham. Martin described the single coils as traditional 60s strat pickups and the humbucker custom voiced to match the single coils, so perhaps a little less roar and growl than you'd expect from a bridge humbucker

As you'd expect the guitar plays exceptionally well and offers a great range of classic Strat voices. I don't need to tell you how stunning the guitar looks...

The guitar is set up nicely and plays very well. It has been played as intended and has some signs of age - these include some light indentations and a surface scratch on the top, a few very small dings around the edges that are just noticeable to the touch, and some marks / scratches to the end of the headstock whilst the neck and frets are superb.

Other points to mention are that the guitar has had replacement tuners, leaving some visible holes in the back of the headstock, the original decal has been overlaid with a newer Rob Williams one, and the neck plate has a small split in one corner.

But, in spite of all that - doesn't it still look gorgeous!

Hiscox case available for additional cost.

    And secondly...

Patrick Eggle LA Pro II - 1993: Sold already!

Here is an absolutely gorgeous example of a Patrick Eggle LA Pro II dating back to 1993. This guitar recently returned to me, having previously owned and sold it some years ago. Whilst I love it, and would like to keep it, I have a number of guitars for sale to facilitate another purchase.

The LA was the company's interpretation of something more strat-like and the Pro II represented the top of the range with the following spec:
    - Body: ash, with one piece figured maple 'drop top'
    - Neck: maple, with an ebony fretboard and 24 frets
    - Tuners: locking Sperzals
    - Bridge: Wilkinson / Eggle PE100 Fastshift
    - Pickups: Custom designed single coils made by John Diggins
    - Controls: volume / tone / 5 ways blade selector

The colour.... this is the most difficult guitar I've ever tried to photograph, so I'll try and describe the colour - it's a dark bluey green, more green on the back, but probably more blue from the front and at some angles almost looks black. The 1st and 3rd pictures probably represent the colour the best.

As you'll see, it is a stunning guitar, and it plays beautifully. It comes with the original Eggle branded Hiscox case, and the owner's tage and card. It will have the original strap buttons and truss rod cover refitted prior to sale.

The condition of this guitar is remarkable - it really appears to have had very minimal play time with no dings or scrapes anywhere. There is a bit of pick swirling in the glossy finish, a couple of tiny scratches from stray string ends on the headstock and a couple of tiny indentations if you look closely, but genuinely close to mint. Likewise the case is also in very good condition.

Further price drop on the Rob Williams making this a really great buy.

I'm happy to consider a part exchange so long as there's some cash my way - anything really; guitars or compact heads/combos...

I saw this on FB a while back. Was a serious bargain. I nearly bought both, but had just splurged on a TA.

Yes, it's certainly a rare find at this price!

If it helps anyone, I'm travelling from Nottingham down the M1 towards Milton Keynes and back next weekend...

May consider a straight trade for a nice valve amp, compact heads or combos considered...

Guitar trades still a possibility but guitar trades must be lower value plus cash.

Final bump before letting this slip to the dim recesses of the forum...

I had let this fade to oblivion as I had been hoping to keep it, but I really do need an amp to replace the 1 I sold to settle my guitar credit card bill.

So, back to the top, and particularly interested in taking a high quality compact valve head (Victory?) in part exchange...

    Link to Rob's site: https://robwilliamsguitars.co.uk/

Been looking at other stuff for sale and notice that this is cheaper than a lot of fairly mainstream production Fender Strats -  nothing wrong with the Fenders, they're a leading brand for good reason and people know what they're getting, but here's a hand built custom Strat by one of the UK's top guys...

Just thought I'd jump in on this.  I played this guitar a few weeks ago it's very high quality and super light.  The neck was lovely with spectacular fret work.  @RevMatt is also an excellent host and great guy to deal with.  If you're after a high quality superstrat you really can't go wrong.

I lied (but not deliberately) - however, after a flurry of interest that died down, this really is the last price drop...

£750 (for the guitar only)  £800 with the Hiscox.

This is way less than the guitar owes me but that means someone is going to get a great deal!
