You sir, or madam, are a very sick person.
You could be right ... http://steamabacusproductions.bandcamp.com/album/rough-musick
I really like your stuff. Reminds me a bit of David Torn in his Splattercell guise, only a bit more chaotic and industrial. I mean this in a good way!
My piece is nothing like that. Nowhere near as interesting. It just goes nnnnnnnnnnnnn with a few skrrp skrrrrrooop noises coming in and out.
Just to say I am just editing a video I amd going to upload showcasing the prize (diago little smasher) and I have to say it is awesome.
To be fair, it's not as skronky (or as good) as @steamabacus "Molecular Distortions" which I'm currently listening to.
Unfortunately I've got no time to record an entry for the drone competition before tomorrow's deadline, but a riff competition would be more doable for those of us who don't get much time to play and record.

- A track in the style of a band or a band of your choice
- A track in which the solo is made up of three notes although you can bend notes
- Everyone could be given some royalty free loops to use to see what they can come up with
- Write a riff using a certain scale and key
The list is endless...Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Inversions are allowed. You have to create a melodic theme and solo BUT the solo can only use notes in a two-octave range, rather like the default keying on a saxophone. This will have to make you think about your choice of notes for the solo as well as the theme.
e.g. a thrash version of Amazing Grace?
A reggaed up version of Freebird?
A Smiths tune given the Shadows/ Hank Marvin treatment?
A Jake Bugg track played a la skiffle? Oh hang on...
