I bought another from some bloke on the bay, that was fake too (they all look right in a photo!) When i challenged him he said his son had gone to Uni and he was clearing out his stuff, keep the mic and I'll refund your money which he did. As it turns out not a bad mic in its own right so win all round.

They're wrong, it's not a civil matter it's a bloody criminal matter!!!
So some occasions, it may work to one's advantage (just).
However that was in October. After I'd taken it back to the shop and informed the police of it's whereabouts, the shop managed to get it back on sale less than 3 weeks after i'd taken it back, and it had sold the same day when I spotted it. I had to get back in touch with the police as thankfully the purchaser had left it in the shop while he arranged to transport it home.
As far as I know, the owner still does not have his amp back. I can only hope it's still in the CG store room and not been sold for a third time. The owner and I are still in touch and he has said repeatedly it's the police being slow but it's also pretty shady on CG's part given they had the details of the person who'd sold it, I'd given them the crime number and a phone number for Thames Valley Police told them to hold it.
