ZonularZonular Frets: 62
No idea about info on this model but it plays well and is quite a bit lighter than my atk.

First five string and great fun.

Any one have any info on it?

A well made and easily playable instrument.

Your example has been modified using Kent Armstrong SKY soapbar pickups.

Models further up the series range get two- or three-band active EQ. This increases sonic versatility. You could add this as a pedal (e.g. Yamaha Nathan East NE-1) or as an onboard installation from John East.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I saw models with j pickups all over, either the routing is impeccable or this one simply had soapbars in it

I had the 4-string version with 2-Band active EQ. IIrc the finish is a photo of wood grain, as on some 90s(?) Fenders.

I bought mine new in about 2002. I think I paid about £350 for it. It came fitted with soapbar humbuckers.

Any Yamaha bass is a solid choice indeed. I don't think they've ever made a bad instrument, even in the entry level they're exceptional value.
