And I'll add:
Queen - Brighton Rock. You know the part, the bit with the echo box that turned into a real snoozefest live. Some great guitar playing on the track, even a cracking tiny wee solo, but the slow solo...zzzzzzz
A Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins - crappy fuzz solo that again, bores me stupid.
The outro of Layla gets another vote from me.

I really like layla but the awesome bit is the bit with the riff (IMO obviously).

But a majority of his live stuff goes on, and on, and on. Some of it is good, but a lot isn't.
Same with Cream.
I understand it was sort of the done thing at the time, but some of the live stuff doesn't come across so well now on record.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
No melody or hook just random noodling and out of tune bends...horrid
John McLaughlin and Sting - The Wind Cries Mary
Fantastic till the solo then it's just "play a jazz noise here"and down hill from then on....
Woah there pilgrim ! Of all the moments in rock, the one I'd give it all up for would be to be up on top of that wall in my jumpsuit blazing away on that song... Oh arse, just read that back and realised that even in music, my aspirations extend no further than emulating a middle class, angst ridden, white boy blues moment.. Still, on top of that wall, everyone looking up in blind adoration ? ;-)
