This is looking great Matt - as a Paul and FB lover I really appreciate the combined look.  Not Banjo tuners though ??

Thanks all - I got lucky with the grain, there’s some lovely figuring in there. Not usually a fan of fancy woods! Would love banjo tuners Pete, but funds won’t stretch to it at the mo.

Going to stop with the colour now. This is Osmo honey btw, first time using it:

It was pretty much finished, when I realised I hated the paint job:

So, that came off. I added some binding:

And now it's had a few coats of Sonic Blue.

Really like the binding you've added Matt - works very well with the thin waist.   Definitely worth changing.   I thought the paint job looked fine tbh - but I am sure this will be even better.

There's still a bit to do - wiring, final finishing and set up etc but everything is where it should be and I like how it looks. Am undecided on a pickguard, not sure that it needs one to be honest.

PIckup is a Jackson J-90c I had in a drawer, sounds good if I remember rightly and now apparently quite sought after?

    Anyways, thanks for looking chaps.

Looks great! if it were me I'd recommend covering the pickup, I always think that uncovered pickups + bigsby look a little weird. Looks like you've learned alot over the lockdown period, that neck is lovely!

F*ck me, was the last update on this in July?? I could have sworn it was more recent. Anyway, I decided that the sonic blue didn't make the most of the white binding and natural cherry body. So, before my day job went mental (which I am grateful for), I refinished it in 'Dark Cola'.

It was in the corner of my music room for the last month, and today I've gotten around to having a look, scraping the binding etc.

    Some pics:

If I ignore my actual job for the next few hours, I can probably get it finished today :)
